Throughout the year, The Woodlands Health & Rehab Center nominates a Team Member of the Quarter. This individual is nominated by their peers as an individual who exemplifies service excellence and embodies the CCR mission to provide peace of mind to those we care for: our patients, residents, families, and staff. One winner is selected from the quarterly winners to receive the Team Member of the Year award. Unfortunately, COVID-19 delayed the award presentation for 2020.
The Team Member of the Year award recipient receives a $500 cash award and a certificate of recognition presented by the Director of Operations, Center Administrator, and the recipient’s Supervisor. In addition, a celebration dinner was held with the winner’s teammates, family, and friends in attendance. The Woodlands Health & Rehab Center winner then competes with 12 other Team Member of the Year award winners to be selected for the Deborah L. Petrine Award. This team member receives an award presented by the Commonwealth Care of Roanoke, LLC President, Director of Operations, and Center Administrator at the winning team member’s Center.
Today, we are pleased to write this nomination for Team Member of the year for Tonya Holley. Tonya’s multiple titles include Business Office Manager, HR Generalist, and Payroll Coordinator during her five years at The Woodlands. She is considered a superstar employee. Her teamwork, work ethic, and outstanding dedication to the Center compare to no other.
During the 2020 year, there were months when Tonya was the only employee in her department and assumed the role of her assistant and many other duties. Tonya works tirelessly every day and has volunteered to work in the dietary, nursing, and activities department when there have been staffing challenges. During covid, Tonya worked nearly every day for approximately 10-14 hours without hesitation. Tonya always has the patient’s best interest at heart.
There have been many occasions where she brings her dog to work to provide pet therapy for the patients. In addition, she has purchased birthday presents, baked cakes, or planned celebrations for staff and residents without asking for reimbursement or assistance.
